It’s with a heavy heart that I have decided to sell my most favorite Jeep. After owning her for the past 6 years and putting on less than 1000 miles during that time, I feel it’s best to try and find her a new owner who will appreciate her as much as I do.
She’s a 1984 Jeep CJ-7 Renegade with just over 104K original miles. I have always stored her with a full padded cover installed and inside a covered parking area next to my shop.
She is in exceptionally original condition with only a few tasteful upgrades added over the years. Here’s a list of what she has:
-258 Inline 6 cyl engine:104K original miles
-new aluminum valve cover
-all new tune up parts (cap, rotor, plugs, and wires)
-Power Steering
-21 Gal fuel tank
-freshly rebuilt Weber carburetor
-Optima Yellow Top Battery
-T5 5 speed manual transmission
-Dana 300 Transfercase
-Dana 30 front axle, AMC 20 rear axle 3.31 gears
-All new brakes and hardware(front-pads&rotors. Rear-drums,shoes,wheel cylinders, and hardware)
-new brake booster and master cylinder
-new Mile Marker hubs on front axle
-all new clutch linkage rods, bell crank, and firewall boot
-new Bestop reclining front seats. Rear bench seat is original and in great condition
-new shift knobs
-new original Jeep dash pad
-Tuffy center console
-new Rugged Ridge front and rear floormats
-new Bestop Bikini top and Trail Cover
-Factory hard doors with perfect door panels
-Factory Hardtop in great condition. Previous owner added a sunroof. Not a fan of those, but this seems like a well built unit and does not leak.
-All new tail lights, turn signal markers, and parking lights
-new OE front bumper
-new Stainless Steel fire extinguisher
-new qty-5 31/10.50/15 BFG All Terrain tires (tires have less than 200 miles, spare has zero)
-Factory 1 year only, 8” wide chrome Laredo wheels. Spare is typical 7” wide. I do have front center caps for wheels but the after market front hubs I installed will not allow caps to be installed.
This Jeep was well equipped with the Renegade package. Tilt wheel, locking glove box, delay wipers, factory roll bar padding, cigarette lighter and ashtray(unused). I have installed a radio delete panel, but the dash is uncut and ready for a two post radio if desired.
I have removed the front and rear sections of carpet but do still have them. Was planning to have the tub lined at some point.
The Jeep was originally purchased in New Mexico and spent its life before my ownership near Durango. Extremely minimal rust!! There are two pinholes in the driver’s floorboard and some light surface rust at edge near body. Additionally, there is a small rust spot on top of driver side rear body rail, beneath where the hard top sits. Very unusual spot and not quite sure how it began. Previous owner neglected to mention it when I purchased the jeep. I currently have the top bolted down and could not get a photo. However, if you’re serious about this Jeep, I could unbolt it and lift it up for a photo.
She retains the factory jack and hardware near the battery and also comes with original owner’s manual and warranty booklet. Even has the original cardboard glovebox insert which is in great shape! All lights, wipers, heater, gauges, etc work.
All suspension components are completely stock. Previous owner added air shocks which when aired up provide additional clearance.
Jeep has original paint and Renegade graphics. Paint is showing age, but has a nice patina. Appears at some point a clear coat was sprayed over original paint. This has begun to fade and flake off.
All and all she is a very great example of the old school CJ-7. Classic look, gets tons of attention, runs flawlessly, and is a joy to drive!
I DO NOT need to sell this amazing Jeep! However, it saddens me to see her parked and rarely driven, which is why I’m offering her up for a new owner and enthusiast. I have a lot more pictures available on request.
Asking $17,500. I feel this is a very fair price for this timeless original classic.
Shoot me a txt or give me a call and let’s talk about her.
Thanks for looking,
-Eric
